The Sami have a rich tradition of reindeer herding. At Skakkerud Reindeer Sanctuary, you’ll have the opportunity to get up close with these majestic animals and even feed them. Your hosts will introduce you to the reindeer on the farm, including the adorable calves. You'll learn how these young reindeer are tamed and how to earn their trust. Enjoy traditional Sami coffee by the lavvo and campfire while capturing photos of the reindeer. If you visit in the evening, there’s a good chance to see the northern lights!
